Master. I remember discipline being very strict then. After leaving school I did electrical work in the area around Oxford, including a spell at Bliss Tweed Mill. During the war, I was in the RAF, stationed in Canada, close to where I was born. Les Sewel, another ex-Chipping Norton pupil was with me there for a time. I returned to Chadlington after finishing military service and in the late 1950s started my own business in Electrical Engineering Contracting. I was a local representative on the Chipping Norton RDC and then on WODC for many years. In 1958 I married my wife Julie. We have four Children and seven Grand-children. Julie and I still live in Chadlington and would be interested to hear about any other ex-pupils of my generation. The e-mail address belongs to one of my Grand-children. 5/11/02 |

Do you remember Mr Watts, physics, and Miss Scott who taught maths - and Mr and Mrs Partridge who taught English and Chemistry and Miss Bellwood and Miss Harrap. And Mr Beard who struggled to teach us French. I has no expectation of ever using it - but go over there now every 6 weeks. I am still working and live in Codicote in Herts with my wife Ann. Hi After leaving Chippy school went on to study accounts in Oxford, and now work as an accountant for Oxford United Football Club where I have been for the last 11 years. It's a great place to work and the view of 30 footballers running around daily is of course an added bonus. I moved from Middle Barton 14 years ago and now live in Abingdon and spend my current time studying for a diploma in Interior Design and generally taking life easy.
