Debbie Nash 1990-1997 Login or Register to view email address. Blimey, so much to say. After Chippy School I went and did my degree at University of West of England and blagged a first! Went on to teach at Witney College, Oxford Brookes and Hartpury College in Gloscester for a few years, where I taught animal science (anatomy, physiology, veterinary science etc,,,) while I lived in Cheltenham. I've now moved to north London with friends as Im working at the Royal Vet College and Im just finishing the first year of my PhD in reproductive pathology and immunity. This basically involves plenty of blood and dead things and thrusting my gloved arm in very warm places. Still living with Chris (5 years and counting) who is becoming an architect so he can build me a house and I can be a kept women forever more.
Otherwise I do venture back to Chippy most weekends as mum and dad are (still) keeping my 2 lovely horses for me. Have been very careful to avoid the Chippy night life (does it still have one?)

Hi all who remember me, I have been married for 16yrs to a great guy called Dan. We don't have any children (both work aholics).
I run the accounts department for an Italian owned engineering firm and Dan is a Social Worker for a residential school.
We live in Banbury and have done for the past 14yrs prior to that we lived in Devon for while.
Is there going to be another re-union (a joint 40th!!!!!!!!?????)

I left school in 1977 and attended Brunel University in Uxbridge (Metallurgy) and have since then lived in London, Kidderminster and now Derby.

Now separted from my second wife !!! I  have two sons Dan and Ollie aged 17 and 19 who live at home with me.

I am a football referee and secretary of the local Mini Soccer League.

I work for a Southampton based  railway livery supplier working as Sales Account Manager I am based at home selling to the railway industry north of Birmingham.

I have lost touch with just about all my school friends but would be keen to re establish contact with anyone who remembers me.

(My parents still live in Chippy so we visit a number of times a year.)

After several years teaching and working on archaeological digs in various sunny locations I'm now living in the rather less than sunny Walthamstow, London with Stewart and son Joseph (now 9 months). Working at the Museum of London where I'm a conservator (glorified cleaner really). Great to find this site but who and how much do we have to pay to get ourselves blanked out of the photos? Makes you realise that there must be some kind of forward progress in society after all when you see those '70's hair styles.

I used to be called "Ollie". Father kept the Blue Anchor pub for a few years until we moved to Rock Hill. Have been a proffesional pianist most of my life. David Hicks was one of my best friends. Getting old now but would love to hear from anyone who has a long memory and can remember me.

After leaving school I married Gil Rouse (another pupil of the school) We were married for 28 years Before we divorced. Sadly Gil died 4 years ago. We had four children 2 boys and 2 girls. We lost one boy aged 2 days. I became a nurse doing my training in Boston. Later after travelling extensively I changed career and did Social Work training and I became a registered manager in Homes for elderly people. I retired 3 years ago but am now working part time for the Alzheimer,s Society I find this very rewarding and I cannot imagine stopping work all together. I have a wonderful partner, We have been together 10 years. We live in Lincolnshire with our 2 dogs and a cat. I would love to hear from anyone from my school days.

Hi all, hope everyone is keeping well. I'm still in Chippy, married to Mike in 1998 and have three children. Georgie 7, jake 5 and Ellie 3.
I spend most of my time at home with the youngest, the other two are now at Holy Trinity Primary School so I have a bit more time to myself.
I work at the leisure centre two mornings and also do the books for Mike's business, G&M Auto Repairs Ltd.

Yes I'm that barmy girl who was determined to ignore all advice and go off and ride horses, hoping to one day ride in the Olympic Eventing team!! Went to work in a point-to-point yard after sixth form and had great fun galloping about, gettng bucked off mad racehorses and getting drunk with young Farmers!! However,I realised that horses cost quite a lot of money (!!) so I have spent the last year doing Physics A-level, thanks to Mr Wooldridges help ( I just loved Chippy so much I couldnt stay away!!!) alongside the riding and am of to Liverpool Uni in September to study Vet Medicine! So now I am looking forward to getting drunk some more (not that I'm an alcy or anything!!) and sticking my arm up cows bottom's!! Not quite sure where I'm going to put my horse in Liverpool but I'm sure I'll find him a garage or something!!! And no, I'm not to become a scouser and wear "trackies" all day!! Hope see you all around!

Hello to all EX-chippy schoolers, since leaving school I've mainly done office work, wasn't really interested in the whole uni life or really further eductaion after sixth form rather go out and earn money, I now work for a firm in Chipping Norton who specialise in elearning, I have a little blond haired blue eyed beauty of a little girl called Cadence who really is the light of my life and i couldn't be prouder of her as well, as she is an amazing little thing, she is currently 17months old, and I also have a partner called Mark who is a great dad to our little girl.

I haven't really got much to say as that has pretty much been my life up untill now, I know everyone says they hate school but it was a good crack, a time for most when life was so simple.

I'd like to send a big shout out to all my pals from school most of which I am still in close contact with but for those that i'm not this shout out is for you.

Dave Pickard 1955-1960 Login or Register to view email address. Left Chippy in 1960 and worked for my father for seven years during which I got involved in the 60,s music scene with band management. Got bred with that so joined the Royal Marines in Feb. 1967. After gaining the commando green beret I went into active service in Aden.I also served in Malaya, Singapore, visiting Australia & Maldives, invalided out in 1971 with leg injuries. Married Barbara,a Naval nurse and moved to Chepstow in 72, divorced 77.
Met current wife Maggie a dentist and married in 1980. We have two sons, Tim who is 18 and just got into Worcester Uni. and Josh who 13. Tim has played rugby for Wales 5 times at Junior and youth level and currently plays for Newport Youth as a tight head prop. We live just outside Monmouth in Wales.Look forward to hearing from any of my old school pals.

I left Chippy School halfway through the first year of A-levels (the PRESSURE man!) to go to Oxford College to study Advanced IT, my true calling. I've recently finished that course, and now I'm going through the motions to get my own Website and graphic design company into full swing! Take THAT Mrs. "You'll never amount to much" Graham! I dont need a SCRAP of Biology to use my natural creative talents, thank you! To everyone who remembers my poems, I still write them, might try and get a book put together one day. Anyone who remembers me, get in touch. When the whole world knows the name of StyleWise Design, you can all say you're close personal friends with the Managing Director! My parents, my sister and I left for America in June of 1957. I worked several jobs in the States, then joined the US Air Force. After leaving the Air Force in 1963, I worked for Kodak for eight years. I started working as a classical radio announcer as well in 1963. Part time at first and then, in 1971, full time. I'm still (as of Feb. 2002) doing the morning show on WXXI (http://wxxi.org. I'm married for the second time and have three children and five grandchildren. My wife Lois is a librarian.

Went to university but dropped out after a year. Live in Essex with partner Patrick and 2 cats. Work as a software tester. Hobbies include supporting Burnley FC and messing about with computers. Hmm… that sounds extremely boring!

School memories are hazy now, but I do recall some of the teachers. Mainly the ones I hated at the time for being too strict – but in hindsight they were probably the best ones. (Anyone remember Mr Byl, Mr Scrase, Mrs Donnelly?)

Anyway, it would be great to hear from anyone who remembers me!

Worked as a PA at Morris Motors in Oxford, married Norman in 1965 (whom I lost in June 2005 just before our Ruby Wedding Anniversary). We had a daughter, Helen, who we lost to cancer in 2001, and now have her son Ben 16 and doing 'A' levels living with me who keeps me both young and poor! We also had three boys, two who live locally and one in Norfolk, who is very useful for the odd long weekend. For over 20 years Norman was unable to do much due to a very dodgy heart so I was the one who went to work, working at Blenheim Palace for years where I met Terry Stokes, the fire alarm man, Rodney Blackman and Brian Shadbolt who both worked for BT.

I have kept in touch with Gill Brown and Sue Tait since leaving school and this summer we got together for the first time to celebrate Gill (the baby!) being 60 by going to Stamford, Lincs for a party. We have since met up with 'the school photo' and intend to meet again when the new grandchildren (Gills and mine) have arrived. Does anyone fancy a reunion? Do let us know.

Married an English girl, returned to UK in 1974, went to Nottingham, got a BEd.degree and now I am headmaster of a prep school in Surrey. I have 3 children:
2 nurses and 1 mechanical engineer, the latter now at Nottingham! Eldest daughter Jo died aged 25, 30/8/03 after a tyre blow out Fitzroy Crossing, W Australia, whilst on another gap year.

Was introduced to a local girl, by Richard Crozier (1961-62)who was also at N/c Uni,got married to Yvonne and settled down up north.Worked for the Burton Group ,Tyne and Wear County Council before becoming a police officer with Northumbria Police ,in 1977.
Spent 30 very good,varied and happy years making my way up the pole to Chief Inspector. Unfortunately, my wife developed Multiple Sclerosis and I have been her principal care for several years.
We still manage to travel around a great deal especially since I retired in May this year.
We have 1 daughter who teaches( not geography)at a 6th form college in Hammersmith.
Apart from Richard Crozier I still keep in touch with Julian Warrick (61-67).

And went schools all done with you wish you were back again.
Well for me everything has been up and down after school I went
On to collage in Oxford to do a bricklaying course for two years but crasher
Out of it after I broke my ankle AGAIN so is moved on up in the world
(In a Chipping Norton way) I went to work for Parker Knoll for three years
Then the place went under and with no work about I moved out of Chippy
And on to Rugby with my girlfriend Jodie and now working in a warehouse up here. Give me a shout on MSN and I will get back to you (Cross my heart)

I left after 3 years in the 6th form, during which time I found that helping to run the school was infinitely preferable to doing any real work. I left to Bournemouth University (nee Bournemouth Polytechnic) and did Information Systems Management impressions for three years, with a year at Action File Software, then based in Heythrop near Chippy, in there too. Once I had recovered from all this, I sought refuge in the only area I really knew anything about - the motor industry. But after a year with the MG Car Club and 3 years with Rover Group, the IT thing caught me up and I have now worked for the IT subsidiary of Volkswagen for 2 years as a marketing type-person. After periods in Swindon, Charlbury, Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Charlbury, I now live in Weedon Bec, Northants in a house that I am gradually (ie. slowly) refurb-ing. My Significant Others are a 1968 MGB GT and 50% of a Series III Land Rover.

I got married in 1970 and came to live in Australia in 1972 for two years - still here! I have two children now 27 and 24 years. One is a musician and musical theatre performer/actor, the other is about to become a lawyer. I still live in Melbourne but am planning to move to Blackwood next year where I have a log cabin on about an acre of bush. It is a tranquil and delightful place among tall, tall eucalyptus trees and lots of native birds and wildlife (the occasional koala bear and wallaby) about an hour or so from the city. I still miss the country, even after all these years and am really looking forward to the move. I manage to come 'home' quite frequently - usually every year - to keep in close touch with family and friends. I still keep in touch with Janet Hughes and Irene Moss and would love to catch up with anyone else who used to catch the school bus from Woodstock. Also, would love to catch up with Gail Matthews Helen Longshaw, Wendy Goodall, Helen Guy or Denise Peachey or anyone else I have forgotten from the 1967 year of 5B.

I have been married to an ex-Chippy pupil, "Mick" Leahy for 28 years. We live in Redditch and both teach. Our two daughters have flown the nest now - one is a teacher and the other is a student at Surrey University (where her Dad was many years ago!). I remember good times in the sixth form, some great Chippy dances and some excellent parties at various farms (owned by different members of the Bartlett family as I recall). A reunion for both our years at school would be great (there were one or two special links between the '68 leavers and the '70 leavers if my memory serves me right.

Philip Sharpe 1971-1977 Login or Register to view email address. Back in '77 I was intending to return after the summer holidays to the 6th form. Got offered a job instead with a wildlife film unit called Oxford Scientific Films. Spent 9 years with them learning how to make films. Went freelance in 1985 as Cameraman and worked for many years for BBC, Survival, Discovery, National Geographic, etc. This culminated in making my own film called 'The Condor, The Coyote & The Canyon' for Survival/Discovery. I spent 18 months living in Arizona to make it and it was screened on Channel 4 in 1998 (and many times since). Did a few years more camerawork on the BBC's 'Congo' & 'Wild Africa' series before switching careers to Special Effects work in cinema (I had done bits and pieces over the years). Worked on 'Black Hawk Down', 'James Bond - Die Another Day', 'Tomb Raider 2 - The Cradle Of Life' and 'Batman Begins'. Currently working on trying to get my own TV series off the ground called 'Living As Martians' but can't find anybody with £8 million to make it!
Still live within 20 miles of Chippy but am moving to New Zealand in late 2006. Sister Nicola is married and living in Australia.
Half sister Lynn in married and lives in Brighton.
Caught up with William Hemmings earlier this year. Anybody know where Guy Thompson, Kevin Nunan, Janice Molyneaux or JJ Baker are?? Would love to hear from anyone else I knew at school. Is Will Messenger still teaching biology there? Did anyone become famous?

Left Oxford area in 1976 moved to Kenilworth, and worked at Jaguar. After company reorganisation and many name changes ended up working for Rover cars as part of Finance Directors staff. Took voluntary redundancy in 99 after 40 years of service.
Remarried in 1990 and gained two sons both ex guardsmen so somewhat taller than me! have now got 2 grandchildren.
Having read Martin Bemmants notes I also wonder where Ken Hovard is. I am still in touch with Jasmine Steele and know that she is not on internet. I rember Sheila Buckingham and will tell J.S.

David John Smith 1965-1967 Login or Register to view email address. time to update my details and new address...I lived on daylesford hill farm caught the (old) school bus from kingham hill through cornwell and salford up the hill pasted the mill,if it was raining I would have to get of in town and hold an umbrella up over our sports teacher who drove a bubble car with no roof(funny eh),a shy boy dark hair drain pipe trousers and winkle pickers (that almost crippled me)my first kiss was to a girl who,s parents ran a pub in chippy(no names) ,stared work at lainchburys & sons kingham,I remember a few from school david price (salford), crabby johnson,allen( who I cruely called beetroot because he would blush easily), clive,jane eden,little ian (always poorly)ruby watson, percy perlina(of jypesy desent and a rascol),never keeped in touch like a ship in the night, left in late 69 for west aust. I married a aussie girl 2 children ,1 grandy. an engineer mostly,and had a go at aquaculture restaurants and crafts,anyone remember our school camp to wells, was it tragiod and abbervan? with mr nobble such highs and lows I remember our trip home in a grey commer van we were all feeling confused by the disaster at abbervan,and I sang "were have all the roses gone" like to hear from anyone who remembers, my summers were spent at the swimming pool at kingham hill, and I played with my brother micheal around the countryside cornwell, churchill and kingham etc.

Ian Smith 1960-1965 Login or Register to view email address. Remember Ian Smith? used to live above the TV shop at 22, High Street. I'm his widow, he died in 1990. He went to Banbury and did a pre dip, then to Nottingham Art College and studied Theatre Design. He then worked at Nottingham Playhouse until his death. You may remember that he had the first ever conviction for possession of cannabis in Chippy! He also had a taste for alcohol, and never managed to stop drinking, which lead to his death. He was a sweet and gentle man, never the nasty drunk. I would love to hear memories of him from any of his friends. His mother is still around, living in North West Scotland.

John Smith 1928-1934 Login or Register to view email address. I started school in September 1928, when it was first opened, under the head-ship of B.C.Orme MA, and left school in July 1934, when A.W.Steward MA was headmaster. I look back on my six years at school with great thanks for the finest education thatI could have wished for.
Mr. Orme was a fine headmaster who concentrated on establishing a sound traditional foundation for the school. He was an accomplished violinist and founded the school orchestra. He was also a keen cricketer and built up the school team to a high level of success, proved in the matches we played against local area schools. The school started with 77 boys and girls and 5 teachers, including the headmaster. At an early stage in school's development, the Old Nortonians Dramatic Club was formed, which presented plays in the year and pantomimes at Christmas. I played in both the orchestra and the Nortonians Club with great relish. Though the Foreign Languages Association, I was able to arrange an exchange, via the School, with a Fr nch family of three children. I am still in touch with one surviving member, communicate in French with her and her husband and keep my French speaking well polished by frequent visits. My closest school friends were Basil and Alwin Craft,Ralph Woodward, - Lewis (top school athlete),- Edgington, all with whom ,I have lost touch. Most of us cycled to school, some from villages miles away (Kingham, Chadlington, Churchill, Rollrights etc. ) no buses in those days !

Hi, I left Chippy in 1974 when I married my husband John who was in the USAF.
We had a couple of tours back to England while he was still in the Airforce, eventually settling in Illinois, close to St Louis where we have been since 1987.
We have three children, Melissa 31, Michelle 28 & Mike 23.
I try to come home to Chippy as often as possible but never seem to run into many of the people I knew at school.
