Have been living in Dallas Texas, on and off for the last 17 years, a few years having been spent in Australia, Venezuela, Egypt and Brazil. From that you can gather that I work in the oil industry and am currently General Manager of an oilfield services company. Bob Carlin found out a couple of days ago and would now like to here from anyone who remembers me from Chippy days.
Usually pass through the UK 3 or 4 times a year for a few days with my parents.

I married Ian Ashby in 1978 and we have lived in Southmoor near Abingdon ever since. The other twin Richard married Joy Turner in 1975
We have one son David who was born in 1989. I am still very involved in Guides and have been running the local guide unit for more that 20 years.
Ian works in Oxford and does the lighting for the local drama group.
Richard is involved in the Banbury drama group. I am still in contact with Rosemary Walton who has lived in America for mor than 25 years.
I would love to hear from any one who remembers me at Chippy school.

Ian Smith 1960-1965 Login or Register to view email address. Remember Ian Smith? used to live above the TV shop at 22, High Street. I'm his widow, he died in 1990. He went to Banbury and did a pre dip, then to Nottingham Art College and studied Theatre Design. He then worked at Nottingham Playhouse until his death. You may remember that he had the first ever conviction for possession of cannabis in Chippy! He also had a taste for alcohol, and never managed to stop drinking, which lead to his death. He was a sweet and gentle man, never the nasty drunk. I would love to hear memories of him from any of his friends. His mother is still around, living in North West Scotland.

Grew up in Salford, moved to London after school and then Scotland when I married. Emigrated to Canada in 1971. Live in Vernon, British Columbia. We have fabulous summers with beautiful lakes and beaches. In winter, if you like to ski, Silver Star is 45 minutes away.I have three daughters, two grandsons and a granddaughter. I don't recognize any names. I remember a girl called Fay, and there was another girl with the surname Watts. e-mail me for a chat.

Well I'm now living in beautiful Brisbane in Queensland and working as the Training Services Manager for an information management company.

I remember Allan Swann he and I were really good mates, Keith Whykes, Malcom Fiddler, Jenny Harrison, Jane Cripps, Jane Kench, and all the others who were friends of these.

I've been in Australia since 1963 and have never been back "home" hopefully will be there in late 2003 or early 2004. We used to have the Oxford House pub in Horsefair. Well I guess we have all changed a bit in the 40 years since I last saw anyone. I would love to have a pint or several when I get over there.

Richard Benfield 1961-1969 Login or Register to view email address. After leaving Chippy in 1969 I went to the University of Aberdeen for four years before leaving for Canada.
I lived in Canada for twenty years getting married in 1988 to an Okie (a native of Oklahoma)and having two children, Elizabeth now 12 and David 10. For those who remember Blue Peter doing a Canadian series in Banff National Park in the early nineties I was the coordinator for the Parks as I was Executive Director of Banff-Lake Louise Chamber of Commerce. From there I went to Whistler ski resort as a marketing exective.
In 1993 we left Canada for Oklahoma where at the University of Oklahoma I trained Russians to be good capitalists and in the process got a doctorate in Geography.
In 1997 we moved to Connecticut where I now teach geography at a small liberal arts college halfway between Boston and New York.
I still keep in touch with a number of Chippy grads but have very few e-mail addresses.

I left Chpping Norton in March 1975 after I married Terry, to live in Bracknell,Berkshire. Decided not the environment I wanted to bring up my family, so moved to Cirencester in April 1975, and produced my first daughter Zoe in July that year. Have been here ever since - its lovely. Had our second daughter Louise in May 1978. Terry and I have been married for over 29 years now. Both of our daughters went to University. Zoe is now a producer for a media company in Bishops Stortford, her boyfriend a director of the same company. Louise looking for work after backpacking for nine months and returned this July heavily in debt,carless, and of course jobless. So why is she always laughing!!! If anybody is planning a re-union (I understand there was one last year!!!!!!) I would so love to join in the get together.

Been married to Carrie for 32 years. we have four children ( three living in Canada one still in England) We now have four grandchildren. After wroking for British Telecom for 25 years I took early retiremnet! and moved to Canada nine years ago. Have been self employed for the last four years with 'Dave's Designs'where I design and manufacture custom furniture. We live on a small Island off Vancouver Island. It's a very outdoor area for hiking kayaking, canoeing, fishing and lots of wild life,including bears and cougars. My wife Carrie has recently won several writing competitions and will be published in the fall of this year.

Stephen Ransome 1961-1966 Login or Register to view email address. I have spent the last 38 years on Tyneside having migrated here to University,where I followed in parents footsteps and studied geography.
Was introduced to a local girl, by Richard Crozier (1961-62)who was also at N/c Uni,got married to Yvonne and settled down up north.Worked for the Burton Group ,Tyne and Wear County Council before becoming a police officer with Northumbria Police ,in 1977.
Spent 30 very good,varied and happy years making my way up the pole to Chief Inspector. Unfortunately, my wife developed Multiple Sclerosis and I have been her principal care for several years.
We still manage to travel around a great deal especially since I retired in May this year.
We have 1 daughter who teaches( not geography)at a 6th form college in Hammersmith.
Apart from Richard Crozier I still keep in touch with Julian Warrick (61-67).

Julie Roberts 1961-1967 Login or Register to view email address. How nice to see a few familiar names I have not heard for years! I got married in 1970 and came to live in Australia in 1972 for two years - still here! I have two children now 27 and 24 years. One is a musician and musical theatre performer/actor, the other is about to become a lawyer. I still live in Melbourne but am planning to move to Blackwood next year where I have a log cabin on about an acre of bush. It is a tranquil and delightful place among tall, tall eucalyptus trees and lots of native birds and wildlife (the occasional koala bear and wallaby) about an hour or so from the city. I still miss the country, even after all these years and am really looking forward to the move. I manage to come 'home' quite frequently - usually every year - to keep in close touch with family and friends. I still keep in touch with Janet Hughes and Irene Moss and would love to catch up with anyone else who used to catch the school bus from Woodstock. Also, would love to catch up with Gail Matthews Helen Longshaw, Wendy Goodall, Helen Guy or Denise Peachey or anyone else I have forgotten from the 1967 year of 5B.

For most of this time I have been a lorry driver, sometimes abroad. Elizabeth (Boo Boo) daughter of Jack (Yogi) Burr, Maths master at the school. The family moved to Lytham ST Annes in 1965. A year later I was accepted at a profesional dance and drama school in Croydon. After five years training I went into the theatre as a professional dancer. I worked in the UK ending up in Madrid, Spain workin in theatre and TV. The last twenty eight years I have dedicated to teaching. My husband Pedro is a
retired light and sound technician and our son David works for th Halifax Bank here on the Costa Blanca, where we now reside.
My parents moved south to Eastbourne in 1968. On retirement in 1982 my parents moved to Stroud in Gloucstershire and they are still there. As a family we have very fond memories of Chippy and if anyone out there remembers us it would be great to hear from you.

I left Chippy in Dec '70 and, after bimbling about for a couple of years trying to decide what to do with the rest of life, went to teacher training college (73 - 76) to do PE and maths. Managed to scrape through and thought about 3 years in the Army before settling into teaching. Went to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 77 being commissioned in 78, and have never looked back! I married my girlfriend from teacher training days and we have a daughter Izzy (now 20) who is at Birmingham Uni doing Mediaeval English and history. I have a house near Chichester (W Sussex) but am currently living in Aberdeen where I am the Training Major for Aberdeen Universities Officer Training Corps - and loving every minute of it. So, 27 years service and just 3 to go before I retire. Anyone want to offer an old soldier a job?? Contacts gratefully received - if only to catch up on past times.

Roger Crudge 1963-1970 Login or Register to view email address. Having spent five and a half, mainly wet days, dairy farming in Devon have finally come to my senses and returned home. Actually we have moved to Kingham,(possibly the only way to move from Churchill to Kingham involves five years quarantine in Devon)! We are hoping to start making cheese again very soon, a skill learnt 'down Debn' though not in competition with Daylesford!
Lydia is in sixth form at Oxford High, but Madeleine is following family tradition and is in fourth form at Chippy. The little ones are at Kingham primary and thoroughly enjoying themselves. I attended the reunion of our year, organised by Jane Sewell and really enjoyed meeting up with everyone, though the sight of Cereta, scarecly altered by the years was rather upsetting!(the rest of us be-zimmered and her fresh from running some marthon)! Looking forward to the next re-union.

I now live in Cornwall having moved around the country since leaving college. I am self employed (unemployable) and I farm with my partner down here in Cornwall. Fancy a cheap holiday. After leaving Chippy, became apprentice to a firm of lithographic plate makers in St. Clements, Oxford, attending printing college in London. Had a near-fatal motorcycle accident travelling to Chippy Mop Fair, and during rehabilitation decided to go to art school, first in Banbury, then in Loughborough.
It was at this time I discovered the Bahai Faith and have tried, with varying degrees of success, to follow that way of life. I married and divorced, then married Maggie Scott. We have four offspring, born in 1982, 84, 86 and 89. Harriet, Philippa, Charlotte and Alexander.
I have painted ever since leaving art college, minus the two years I spent working as a labourer and ganger on a building site in Loughborough. I have illustrated children's and adult titles. To date I have exhibited paintings in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and various other cities in Scotland. Also Cumbria. I like playing football and still struggle with all forms of administration, which is why I paint. I live in the Scottish Borders. I couldn't afford to buy LP (vinyl) records, so we used to listen to Sanatic Majesty's by the Sones owned by Nick Page and the Double White Beatles owned by a rich farmer's son whose name escapes me, in the common room. If anyone remembers 'Hank', then please get in touch.

I have been married to an ex-Chippy pupil, "Mick" Leahy for 28 years. We live in Redditch and both teach. Our two daughters have flown the nest now - one is a teacher and the other is a student at Surrey University (where her Dad was many years ago!). I remember good times in the sixth form, some great Chippy dances and some excellent parties at various farms (owned by different members of the Bartlett family as I recall). A reunion for both our years at school would be great (there were one or two special links between the '68 leavers and the '70 leavers if my memory serves me right.

I was Head of Science at the school from 1965-73, and of the Sixth Form for some of that time, followed by Peter Scrase.  During that time the science laboratories were expanded.  We exhibited at the Oxford Science Fair and took parties on field trips, sometimes in a pair of ex-ambulances - Goonhilly Downs in Cornwall, the residential centre at Tregoyd, South
Wales, Saffron Walden and points east, and more locally the Post Office training school at Leafield.  In school  I have happy memories of starting sixth-form hockey and of joining in other activities such as the swimming parties organised by Jenny Allen.
 
If you are one of those from this period, and our paths crossed, I would welcome contact.  During that time I became extensively involved in national (GCE) examining.  Subsequently I went to Schools Council.  Last December I retired, after some years in Paris with OECD, working with
international groups, for instance on the new developments opened up by the use of computers in education.

David John Smith 1965-1967 Login or Register to view email address. time to update my details and new address...I lived on daylesford hill farm caught the (old) school bus from kingham hill through cornwell and salford up the hill pasted the mill,if it was raining I would have to get of in town and hold an umbrella up over our sports teacher who drove a bubble car with no roof(funny eh),a shy boy dark hair drain pipe trousers and winkle pickers (that almost crippled me)my first kiss was to a girl who,s parents ran a pub in chippy(no names) ,stared work at lainchburys & sons kingham,I remember a few from school david price (salford), crabby johnson,allen( who I cruely called beetroot because he would blush easily), clive,jane eden,little ian (always poorly)ruby watson, percy perlina(of jypesy desent and a rascol),never keeped in touch like a ship in the night, left in late 69 for west aust. I married a aussie girl 2 children ,1 grandy. an engineer mostly,and had a go at aquaculture restaurants and crafts,anyone remember our school camp to wells, was it tragiod and abbervan? with mr nobble such highs and lows I remember our trip home in a grey commer van we were all feeling confused by the disaster at abbervan,and I sang "were have all the roses gone" like to hear from anyone who remembers, my summers were spent at the swimming pool at kingham hill, and I played with my brother micheal around the countryside cornwell, churchill and kingham etc.

Hi, I left Chippy in 1974 when I married my husband John who was in the USAF.
We had a couple of tours back to England while he was still in the Airforce, eventually settling in Illinois, close to St Louis where we have been since 1987.
We have three children, Melissa 31, Michelle 28 & Mike 23.
I try to come home to Chippy as often as possible but never seem to run into many of the people I knew at school.

I live in Benson in oxfordshire, I work as a receptionist at Williams F1, I love my job as my husband is a keen motor racing enthusiast. Marshalled at Silverstone for many years, restores vintage cars i.e Rolls and Bentleys, we own a 1935 Rolls Royce which we use for weddings and special events. I worked in a doctor's surgery in Chippy untill 1974 then moved to Oxford for one year doing the same job. Met Reg when I was 20 got married July 1976 lived in Finstock from 1976 to 1983. Daughter Fay born 1977 son Brett 1979.Moved to Bampton 1983 and back to the doctors receptionist-pharmasists job. June 1986 moved to The Algarve Portugal. I now work as a credit controller and advertising sales representative for a local English news magazine. Andy Gould and David Keen have both been over to visit with their families. If anyone would like a holiday here let me know as I have lots of contacts with villas etc. My mum still lives in Chippy so I visit now and again. My next trip will be May 2002 for mums 80th birthday, sorry can't make it to the reunion. Would love to here from anyone who remembers me from those good old days.

Hi Everyone. I moved back to chippy 12 years ago and wont be leaving again, I love it here. I have a great job at the maternity unit at Chippy hospital. I am married to mick and we have 3 children. Darren,who at the moment is travelling the world. Lisa,who got married last year and has just found out she is having her first baby. I cant imagine being a granny. Sarah is our youngest at 18. I also have a stepson,Tim who is getting married this july. I had a wonderful time at the reunion oct 1996. I didn't get to talk to everyone but the next day I couldn't speak so I must of had a good try. I dont think the trip some of us had to the tavern after helped! Unfortunatly I dont think I will be around for the 2001 reunion so I hope you all have a good time.

With my sisters Jane and Liz and my brother John we span from about 1963-1976 at Chippy school. Even though I did fine academically I found school unbearably tedious and remember crossing off every maths lesson one by one until I could leave in 1972! I spent 2 years at a ballet school in London, but realized that I wasn't actually good enough for a professional career. Ended up training as a radiographer. Travelled extensively in Asia, Australia and South America with my first husband. I've been settled in Greenwich and working in London for the last 20 years, the last 12 of those with Stephen who I married in 2003. He is now retired from his health service job and we are planning our escape from the city. Though I came to hate school I do have fond memories of my mates like Anna Gatling, Barbara Birchmore and Sheila Graham. I used to visit Chippy regularly until my mum died in 1998 but have only been once since then. It was my German penfriend's brother who told me about this site.

It has been a while since Chippy days but who could forget. I have a small blue Hymn book containing many autographs and it would be great to know where these people are who made their mark.

Have started, built up and then sold two IT companies. So have managed to complete that cycle and can now avoid work totally by amongst many things, playing golf (badly), skiing (OK) and scuba diving (OK). Married Fiona in 1979 and have three great kids, all girls 16, 12 & 9. Still return to Chippy every couple of months to visit my Dad.

I left Chippy in 1973 to emigrate to Adelaide, South Australia, with my family and got married to Fred in 1974. I trained as a psychiatric nurse and then moved to New Zealand in 1978. There I completed my general nurse training and worked in a variety of wards until going into nursing education in 1984. I have worked at Christchurch Polytechnic for 16 years, teaching in the Diploma, then in the nursing degree programme and in post-graduate courses. I first obtained a nursing degree through correspondence study over 11 years and then completed a Master of Education part-time. Earlier this year I decided to return to clinical nursing and am now working as a staff nurse in the oncology ward at the local hospital. It's been a steep learning curve again, and the shift work is a real killer when you are mid-forties! I'm really enjoying the patient care and plan to stay in clinical
nursing for a few more years yet and possibly travel on a working holiday.
I enjoy living in Christchurch, the city has lots going on, the scenery is lovely and the weather nice. I came to the Chippy School reunion in 1997 and it was great to catch up with old friends and I still keep in touch with Eunice Parker (nee Eddy) who lived in Stonesfield.

I have now been married to Caroline (nee Elmer from Fritwell) for 16 years (2nd marraige).I have 2 children who are now both young men. I still am a passionate Chelsea supporter after all these years. It would be good to here from old school mates.

Since the death of my mum I rarely visit Chippy now even though it is so close.

Got married in 1980 , I have 2 grown up kids ,my son Alex is 24 and living in London ,my daughter Lindsay 22 lives in Oxford .My then wife decided she had had enough of me and terminated our contract in 2002.That's briefly it folks !!!

Ian Debling 1969-1973 Login or Register to view email address. After leaving Chipping Norton, I spent my university days in Guildford before heading North to Derby.
I married Mary in 1980 and have one daughter Marie who is now 15.
I have worked at Rolls-Royce since graduating, starting in Engineering and now in IT, implementing and supporting business systems.
In between times we have spent a year in Cincinatti and 2.5 years in Munich which were great experiences.
We still have the travel bug and enjoy big holidays - this year went to China.
My main hobby is photography - which goes well with holidays, and I occasionally build personal computers.
Chippy seems a long time ago but it was great to recognise some names on the 1966 pupil photo.

I lived in Enstone and came to Chippy from Spendlove in 1969. Moved to Banbury after marrying Shelly in 1975, but moved back to Enstone in Feb 2005. Two daughters born 1977 and 1980, Four granddaughters (born 1996, 1999, 2000 and 2004), Three grandsons (born 1998, and twin boys in 2001). We will be celebrating our 30th anniversary in November 2005. I work for Thames Valley Police in Banbury, having been a chef and a Fireman. I am still in touch with many from my year (160+) and also from other years. I love to travel, funds permitting! I have also written a book about growing up in the 1960's called 'Simpler Then'. It retails at £4.95, but all ex-chippy can buy it cheaper. I have also written a book of poetry, helped by other ex-chippy pupils - How One Grows in Rhymes and Prose. I have also republished five school magazines from Spendlove, in three volumes called "Under Wychwood", and three volumes of true stories from the Banbury Genealogical list called "Before I Forget" with another three volumes in progress. Currently working on a book about Enstone. Anyone who knows me, get in touch. I always answer e-mails..

Having spent time as a farmer I decided to take a break and followed my brother Gary into the Army in 1981. Gary left and I have stayed. I married Susan in 1985 and have two children Hayleah (17) and Matthew (20)he is also in the army, we have lived in 16 houses since, Ranging from Aldershot to Hong Kong and Bulford to Brunei, Sennelager Germany to Northern.
I have recently served in Iraq and Northern Ireland and will visit Afghanistan for 6 months in 2007. I was commisioned into the the rank of Captain in April 1999 and am now a Major and Officer Commanding a Medical Squadron in the North of England. I expect to leave the army in 2008 (God willing) after 28 years in the Army.

I started working for Barclays Bank in March 1972 and have worked for them ever since, until being made redundant this year at the end of June. I now work for Aberdeen Asset Management who deal in Unit Trusts and are a very fast expanding company. I left the Cotswolds in 1990 to move to Scotland .I live on a small farm in rural Aberdeenshire where I have a Horse, 20 sheep, a collie dog and two kittens.
