I'm not sure if this was a practice or qualifying expedition. Stephen Preston and Martin Hall together with their brothers walked a route through the Evenlode Valley, camping in a front garden in Stonesfield.

After visiting the boys with my Dad (the expedition invigilator) we all must have walked down to the footbridge over the Evenlode at grid reference SP393164.

Back at their camp the lads soon got a roaring wood fire going.
