The photographer of this superb informal picture is unknown. The pupils have clearly been engaged on creating a garden area for the new school. Comparison with the 1928 school photograph suggests that the teacher is Mr Bonham, science teacher and one of the original teaching staff. Walter Padley is in the back row second from right. Can anyone suggest an exact location? I believe the roof of the building on the left is where the fire station is now and the chimney on the right belongs to Hitchman's Brewery, now Hitchman Drive. I'd also love to be able to put some names to these faces - over to you.
